Who am I?

Hi, I’m Tayte Fordham and I’m trying to make my way through life to make being a motorsport journalist and filmmaker my full time job.

So far I’ve learned my craft through two degrees: A First-Class degree in Journalism from The University of Derby, and more recently a Masters in Automotive Journalism from Coventry University.

In the last four years I’ve been able to create some amazing motorsport content, a Magazine, a couple of short films and my biggest achievement so far, my BRM Documentary: BRM World Beaters from Bourne (which won an award!)

This website is where I share my thoughts on motorsport in my blog; Only Red Flags. I also have my BRM documentary linked so feel free to watch that, and eventually I'll put up work that I’ve done post University and my CV is conveniently placed below for employers…

I’m just at the start of my career and I’m excited for what it holds for me in the future. Although one thing is for certain: I want to be able to create work that makes people love motorsport, just as much as I do.

  • BRM British Racing Motors (March-2023 - Ongoing)

    I started working for BRM during my final term when completing my Masters. They helped my produce my final project, which was a documentary about the team “BRM: World Beaters from Bourne” After completing the documentary in early August I still work with BRM to edit together short videos and help coordinate events like Engineered in Bourne.

    DriveTribe, Staff Writer (October 2018 - January 2022)

    DriveTribe enabled me to develop my journalism skills and passion by creating my own content, refining my abilities as a content creator and writer through continuous learning and improvement. Although the site closed in January 2022, I continue to share my blogs on this website.

    Decyfr GP, Staff Writer/Editor (January - July 2022)

    At Decyfr GP, an emerging F1 media channel, I honed my skills on a part-time basis, producing captivating articles and videos that garnered thousands of views on TikTok, effectively applying my expertise to a dynamic company.

    University of Derby Motorsports Society, Writer and Content Creator (August 2021 – June 2022)

    While studying at the University of Derby, I contributed to the UoD Motorsports Society by crafting engaging racing reports for competitions like the BUKC and creating multimedia content to explain the BUKC for the society's social media platforms.

    Uni Comms Derby, PR Consultant (April 2021 - May 2021)

    During my work experience module at the University of Derby, I explored PR through a role at Uni Comms Derby, where I crafted press releases for companies like JCB and strategically expanded Bridge the Gap's social media presence, contributing to a significant increase in their following.
